Dr. Ricky Cera, Supervising Admistrative Officer, and Engr. Leonora Quarte, Education Supervisor II, attended a consultation meeting at the St. John Bosco College of Northern Luzon (SJBCNL), City of San Fernando, La Union for the evaluation of the curriculum design and job titles of the Diploma in Hospitality Management program on February 6, 2026.
The meeting was presided by Ms. Junabel Casugay, Director for Academic Affairs of SJBCNL.
Ms. Glenda Acevedo, Supervising TESD Specialist, TESDA Provincial Office and Ms. Emily A. Bringas of Puerto de San Juan Beach Resort Hotel and Residences also attended the said meeting.
The presentation of the amended curriculum was facilitated by Ms. Cheryll Ve dela Cruz, TVET Head of SJBCNL.
Ms. Acevedo reiterated the alignment of the curriculum with the amended guidelines on the packaging rules of PQF Level 5 (Diploma) Programs for the TVET Sector.
Ms. Bringas, for her part, being the industry partner, identified job titles for graduates of the program.
Dr. Cera and Engr. Quarte provided recommendations on aligning the course descriptions, course units, and the prescribed number of lecture and laboratory hours with the programโ€™s PSGs, to ensure a seamless transition from the diploma to the baccalaureate degree.
The meeting emphasized the importance of aligning the academic program with prescribed standards of CHED and TESDA, as well as with industry standards to ensure that graduates are equipped with relevant skills and competencies for the hospitality sector.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of CHED, TESDA, and industry partners to quality education, workforce readiness, and sustainable development in hospitality management.
