CHED RO1 enhance social media strategies, kicks off first series of Project WRITES

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 1 (CHED ROI) initiated a capacity-building program on sustaining reliable articles and effective news writing for the stakeholders through Project WRITES (Writing Responsibly Through Information Sessions, Training, and Engagement with Stakeholders) at the CHED ROI Conference Hall, San Fernando City, La Union, on February 11, 2025.

The said project seeks to provide a series of workshops on News and Feature Writing, Publication Materials/Page Design, Photography, and Video Editing to the selected CHED ROI staff.

Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, Director IV of CHED ROI expressed her support to the said training program as a tool to further improve communication skills and social media presence.

The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Strategic Communications Team headed by Director Herdy Yumul discussed their best practices and highlighted the importance of Institutional Brand Standards, Information Management, Social Media Strategies, Documentation Services, and Graphic Design for Social Media.

Ms. April M. Bravo, Assistant Regional Director of the Philippine Information Agency Regional Office 1, provided the components of a news story and underscored the importance of reliable news facts in constructing a news article.

β€œLet us continue providing credible and impactful news to our stakeholders to continue building an informed Filipino people,” Ms. Bravo said.

Dr. Danilo B. Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist, shared the statement of purpose at the training, while Engr. Angelica Q. Dolores introduced the speakers. Ms. Nympha N. Buenio, Chief Administrative Officer, closed the session, commending the training efforts aimed at further capacitating CHED ROI staff.

CHED RO1 ES serves as judge in 1st Animation Festival at Lorma College

Mr. Albert H. Subang, Education Supervisor II of CHED Regional Office 1 witnessed the creativity and technical skills of animators and digital artists from various higher education institutions (HEIs) during the 1st Animation Festival of Lorma Colleges, San Fernando, La Union, on February 6-7, 2025.
In collaboration with Busan Kyungsang College, South Korea, the Lorma Colleges featured competitions in 2D and 3D Animation, Digital Illustration, and Storyboarding.
As an expert in Information Technology Education, Mr. Subang provided insights and constructive critiques to the participants, ensuring a fair and high-quality competition.
“This festival is a testament to the growing importance of animation and digital storytelling in today’s world. The level of talent displayed by the students is truly remarkable, and I commend Lorma Colleges and Busan Kyungsang College for fostering such creativity,” Mr. Subang said.
Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, President of Lorma Colleges, and Mr. Ahn Yong Joon of Busan Kyungsang College graced the event, highlighting their institutions’ commitment to advancing digital education.
“Through this partnership, we are not only expanding our students’ technical skills but also providing them with a global platform to showcase their talents. We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future,” Dr. Macagba shared.
The festival also included workshops and industry talks, providing students with insights into the latest trends in animation and multimedia arts.
The event served as a platform for young artists to showcase their talents, gain industry exposure, and explore career opportunities in animation.
