CHED RO1 Spearheads GST

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHEDRO1), in partnership with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), proudly concluded the 2024 Project BABAE (Balitaktakan, Aliwan at Bahaginan Alay kay Eba) at the College of Arts and Sciences, DMMMSU – Mid La Union Campus, City of San Fernando, La Union on December 11-12, 2024.
 
Serving as the culminating activity of CHEDRO1’s observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, the two-day Gender Sensitivity Training brought together Higher Education GAD Focal Persons and CHEDRO1 personnel to champion gender equality and inclusivity in the higher education sector.
 
✨ Day 1: The first day featured engaging discussions and interactive learning sessions on critical topics, including gender equity in leadership, addressing unconscious biases, and integrating GAD principles into institutional frameworks.
 
🎭 Day 2: The second day showcased collaboration and creativity through the Aliwan segment, which included performances and storytelling, followed by the Bahaginan forum. In this forum, participants shared best practices, challenges, and success stories from their GAD initiatives, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and inspiration.
 
The event concluded with a commitment signing, where participants pledged to become part of the movement and serve as duty bearers in the fight to end Violence Against Women (VAW).
