Atty. Estevez graces R1 UniFAST Orientation
The CHED Regional Office I conducted an orientation with Region 1 higher education institutions at the Tadena Hall, University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, on October 14, 2024.
Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, OIC Executive Director of UniFAST, delivered a talk titled “Understanding Access to Quality and Transformative Education.” His discussion focused on clarifying the existing guidelines for implementing the UniFAST programs. Furthermore, he provided participants with first-hand information on the new guidelines for these programs.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director IV of CHEDRO1 and Dr. Edwin Cadorna, President of the University of Northern Philippines, delivered welcome messages during the said activity.
“We warmly welcome you to UniFAST Updates 2024, a significant opportunity to expand our mission for the benefit of every Filipino child. Tomorrow, we will celebrate the ninth anniversary of the UniFAST Act, a testament to nearly a decade of efforts toward more inclusive education for all,” Dr. Ferrer said.
Dr. Ferrer also expressed CHEDRO1’s appreciation for the venue provided by UNP and for the Office’s ongoing support of its events.
The orientation gathered UniFAST focal persons and representatives from various HEIs to strengthen partnerships between the HEIs and UniFAST, promoting the efficient and productive implementation of its programs.
