The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I joins the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples in celebrating the Indigenous Peoples Month and commemorating the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) this October.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future,” we honor the rich heritage of our Indigenous Peoples, recognizing their vital role in shaping our nation’s identity and in inspiring future generations.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I, in partnership with Pangasinan State University and the International Relations Officer Council of Region 1 (IROC 1), will convene the Region 1 2025 Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation (FLAIR) on September 30, 2025, at the ASEANA Hall, Golden Lion Hotel, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
The seminar-workshop will feature discussions on the how-to’s of crafting entries for the World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI), Times Higher Education Impact Ranking, and UI Greenmetrics.
This initiative forms part of CHED RO1’s strengthened efforts to expand the participation of Region 1 HEIs in international rankings.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I, in partnership with Pangasinan State University, is thrilled to announce the TIMPUYOG: 2025 ASEAN Conference for Region 1 Higher Education Institutions happening on September 29, 2025, at the Convention Hall of Pangasinan State University, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Now on its third year, TIMPUYOG 2025 will once again bring together higher education institutions across Region 1 to celebrate diversity and strengthen regional collaboration.
The event will also feature presentations of various student-led SDG initiatives and proposals, as well as the awarding of Region 1 HEIs recognized in international rankings this year.
