PSU alumnus secures 10th place in June 2025 Special Professional LEPT

Mr. Ronald P. Soriano of Pangasinan State University (PSU) Asingan Campus ranked 10th in the June 2025 Special Professional Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) – Secondary.
Mr. Soriano garnered an 86.80% passing rate in the said board examination.

CHED Regional Office 1 celebrates LET 2025 Topnotchers from Region 1

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 1 proudly congratulates four (4) outstanding achievers from Region 1 who earned top spots in the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) Secondary Level:
Top 8 – Raesha Jie Tarangco Abulencia, Urdaneta City University
Top 10 – Andrew Lyn Soriano De Vera, Pangasinan State University – Lingayen Campus
Top 10 – Althea Mendoza Rosario, Pangasinan State University – Bayambang Campus
Top 10 – Simeon P. Terrano, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the LET results today, May 23, 2025. A total of 16,282 out of 34,810 (46.77%) passed the Elementary Level, and 38,747 out of 62,225 (62.27%) passed the Secondary Level.
CHED RO1 commends these topnotchers for their dedication and excellence, bringing pride to Region 1 and the higher education institutions they represent.

The CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP) is now open for applications!

The CMSP offers financial assistance to qualified and deserving students based on merit and academic performance with a general weighted average of 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟵𝟯% 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁.
Interested applicants must submit the following requirements:
✅ Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by PSA or NSO
✅ Certified true copy of High School Report Card (Form 138) for the incoming first year
Any of the following documents:

Congratulations to the New Recipients of the Future Medical Technologist and Pharmacist Scholarship Program!

CHED ROI is proud to announce the names of the new MTP-SP Scholars. These eight ( 8 ) exceptional students are from the Urdaneta City University and the Mariano Marcos State University.
The MTP-SP aims to provide financial assistance to qualified and deserving students in allied and health-related programs and to meet the demands of the health labor market needs and existing frameworks on healthforce planning and equitable resource allocations.
The scholars upon passing the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) Licensure Exams, shall render one (1) year of mandatory return service per year of the scholarship availed from the government in compliance with the Universal Health Care Act.

CHED RO1 distributes UniFAST TDP stipends at Lab for All in Pangasinan

As part of its commitment to provide educational assistance to students, CHED ROI distributed stipends to 44 Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees from the University of Pangasinan during the Lab For All event in Bayambang, Pangasinan on February 6, 2025.
Each beneficiary received ₱7,500, covering the 2nd Semester of SY 2023-2024.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos highlighted the contributions of various national government agencies (NGAs) to the Lab For All initiative and provided a breakdown of the ₱682,910,746.99 allocation intended for the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE), emphasizing CHED’s role in expanding educational opportunities.
CHED Chairperson J. Prospero E. De Vera III shared updates on CHED’s participation and support for Lab For All activities nationwide, reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to accessible and inclusive education through financial aid programs like TDP and TES under UniFAST.
Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, UniFAST Executive Director, graced the said event and provided his support in facilitating the grant distribution process, ensuring that beneficiaries received their financial assistance smoothly.
Furthermore, Atty. Estevez and Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, Director IV of CHEDRO I, engaged with the students, learning about their personal journeys and the transformative impact of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) in their lives.

CHED RO1 Distributes stipends to 716 TDP grantees at NCC

The CHED Regional Office I distributed stipends to 716 Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees on January 24, 2025 at Northern Christian College (NCC) in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
The said event, funded under the initiative of Hon. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, reinforced the government’s commitment to making higher education accessible and equitable for deserving students.
The Commission released a total amount of ₱5,370,000.00, in the said institution for Data Center College of the Philippines and NCC TDP grantees with each of them receiving ₱7,500 per semester.
The said stipends covered the 2nd Semester of SY 2023-2024, enabling students to focus on their academic endeavors without the financial burden.
Dr. Lucris Carina Agnir-Paraan, President of Northern Christian College, extended a warm welcome to the grantees and to the staff from the Office of Hon. Marcos.
She emphasized the pivotal role of education in shaping their future and contributing to nation-building.

CHED RO1 distributes stipends to 384 TDP Grantees at Northwestern University

The CHED RO1 distributed stipends to 384 Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees on January 24, 2025, at Northwestern University in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Funded under the TDP initiative of Honorable Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, student-grantees were able to claim their stipends amounting to 7,500.00 for each semester.
The Commission released a total of Php 2,865,000.00, which covered the stipends for the 2nd Semester of SY 2023-2024 to grantees from various municipalities of the 1st District of Ilocos Norte.
