“Simplifying Operations, Amplifying Outcomes.”
Aiming to further familiarize HEIs in utilizing the Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS), CHED RO1 conducted the annual orientation on the said system on November 8, 2024, via Zoom Video Teleconference.
HEMIS is a centralized platform for tracking information, such as student enrollment data, graduate data, program offerings, and institutional profiles, facilitating streamlined reporting and collaboration.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director IV, graced the virtual activity as she rendered her message that highlighted the importance of Management Information Systems in the future of education and its exponential growth in the digital era.
Dr. Danilo Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist, explained the purpose of the said orientation which was based on CHED Memorandum Order No. 45, s. 2016, wherein CHED has a mandate to collect collate, store, and disseminate data and information needed by the public and major stakeholders, so that data-driven decisions can be made for higher education to formulate policies on instruction, research and extension.
Mr. Kristan Marko Crisostomo, Project Technical Staff II, shared the results of the validation
of Higher Education Data/Information, and Mr. Albert Subang, Education Supervisor II, discussed the HEMIS Forms.
Mr. Donnie Gallocanta Jr., Project Technical Staff III, demonstrated the navigation of the said HEMIS portal.
Participating SUCs, LUCs, and PHEIs were divided into groups to validate, consolidate, and submit the required data of the said system during the workshop.
Engr. Angelica Q. Dolores, Supervising Education Program Specialist, thanked the participants for their participation and continued collaboration with the Commission on assuring data accuracy and reliability.
