CHEDRO1 conducts 2025 Strategic Planning

To kick off the year with more innovative and impactful projects and programs, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 1 (CHED RO1) set its goals for 2025 through a three-day Strategic Planning session at the CHED RO1 Conference Room, City of San Fernando, La Union on January 13-15, 2025.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director IV, started the planning sessions with an in-depth discussion of the CHED Strategic Plan 2024-2028.

She emphasized that all initiatives of the Office are geared towards the realization of the five key result areas (KRAs): Access and Success, Quality and Excellence, Internationalization, Social Responsibility, and Good Governance.

Following the discussion, Dr. Ferrer facilitated a workshop where units assigned to each KRA were grouped to assess the office’s grounding through SWOT and PESTLE analyses and prioritization.

“This will allow us to assess which areas must be addressed, improved, and prioritized so we could serve our clients better,” Dr. Ferrer highlighted.
Based on the analyses and review of accomplishments, the teams determined the priority programs and projects for stakeholders this year.

The planning sessions also covered updates on the office’s processes, including electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (eCAV), Special Order Application and Issuance System (SOAIS), Client Satisfaction Measurement, Document Tracking Systems, and Procurement Timelines.

Discussions on the budget utilization rate and the financial standing of the office were also emphasized to ensure effective implementation of the Office’s mandates followed.

This year’s planning session and workshop were attended by all CHED RO1 top management and staff to ensure more harmonized and efficience operations for 2025.
