The CHED Regional Office 1 and various higher education institutions (HEIs) joined the 4th Quarter Regular Meeting of the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC) at the Multi-purpose Hall, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office, DMMMSU-MLUC, City of San Fernando, La Union, on November 12, 2024.
Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog, Regional Director of DOST-1, presided over the meeting.
The Committee approved the endorsement of the DOST survey on research and development expenditures and human resources in government, higher education institutions, and private non-profit institutions.
The proposed RRDIC 2025 policy agenda and work plan were also approved.
Furthermore, several topics were presented and discussed during the meeting, including the STI Chapter of the 2024 Regional Development Report Data Needs, the DOST FNRI study, the PRISTINE program, updates on SILLAG, NSTW 2025, the UPSKILL Co-Creation Workshop, and the Salt Congress.
Representatives from various HEIs in the region were present, namely DMMMSU, ISPSC, MMSU, PSU, SLC, and UNP. Officials from regional line agencies such as DPWH, DILG, DA, DENR, NEDA, and DepEd also attended the said meeting.
Engr. Leonora Quarte, Education Supervisor II, represented the CHED Regional Office I.
