CHEDRO1 hosts RQAT Year-End and Feedbacking assembly
The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHEDROI) conducted the 2024 Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) Year-End Assembly and Feedbacking at the CHEDROI Conference Hall on December 19, 2024.
The year-end activity was attended by the RQAT members deployed for the validation visit in 2024, along with education supervisors from CHEDROI.
The RQAT is a pool of experts from various disciplines who are tapped to provide technical assistance to the regional office in the monitoring and evaluation of programs of higher education institutions (HEIs) in terms of compliance with the minimum requirements as embodied in the Policies, Standards and Guidelines (PSGs).
Dr. Danilo B. Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHEDROI, delivered the welcome message on behalf of Regional Director Christine N. Ferrer. Furthermore, Dr. Bose also provided an overview of the activity, emphasizing the contribution of the RQAT to the regional office’s continued efforts to sustain quality and excellence in higher education institutions in the region—Quality and Excellence being one of the five pillars of the CHED Strat Plan Framework.
The RQAT members were divided into groups for the workshop activities. The first session focused on mapping the strengths and weaknesses of the various HEIs visited, followed by a workshop centered on sharing the gaps and challenges encountered by the RQAT members during their validation visits.
The outputs of the workshops will be used as basis for the RQAT activities that will be laid out next year for the expansion and continuous capacity building of CHEDROI’s pool of experts.
For this year, CHEDROI was able to carry out validation visits in nineteen (19) higher education institutions and two (2) regional medical centers for twenty-six (26) baccalaureate programs and ten (10) graduate programs, deploying a total of fifty-five (55) RQAT members.
