The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Regional Office 1 prepares to conduct the 2025 Sustainability Forum: Getting Ready for Environmental Efficiency in the North (GREEN) in partnership with the SM City Urdaneta Central, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan in an online meeting on January 15, 2025.

The 2025 Sustainability Forum will feature an online lecture series, quiz bee, search for the best extension program, best art exhibit, and digital campaign for sustainability awareness.

These activities are calibrated to align with the Commission’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and address the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals.

The activity will target to engage UNIFAST grantees in Ilocos Region, especially those enrolled in priority programs. The participants will come from all provinces in the Ilocos Region, compared to last year when only higher education institutions in Pangasinan were invited.

The forum is tentatively scheduled in August 2025 at SM City Urdaneta Central Event Center. The proposed schedule considered the timing of opening of classes and the simultaneous activities of schools.

Prizes during the activity will be sponsored by partner companies and industries of SM City Urdaneta Central which may increase in this year’s forum.

CHED representatives during the meeting included Atty. Dessa Estrada, Dr. Al Gerald Barde, Ms. Alexis Moira Dolores, and Ms. Ailene Flores. Meanwhile, SM City Urdaneta Central representatives were spearheaded by Mall Manager Abraham Malicdem.

The sustainability forum dubbed as GREEN was first held on October 10, 2024 at the same venue.
