  1.  INTRODUCTION

    This page outlines the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)’s policies regarding the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and disposal of personal data obtained from our members and users of this site.

    The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) respects the privacy of its data subjects and recognizes the need for appropriate measures to protect the data collected in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012, and other issuances of the National Privacy Commission. Likewise, CHED adheres to the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality in the processing of personal data and information (Rule IV. Sec. 18, IRR, DPA of 2012).

    We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our site. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

  4.  DATA PROTECTION, SHARING, AND RETENTION

    Only authorized personnel of CHED will have access to user data. This information will not be disclosed outside of CHED without user consent, unless required by law or authorized by competent authorities.

    We do not retain your personal data longer than is necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which they were collected. To the extent required by law, we take reasonable steps to delete and/or destroy personal data in a secure manner when we no longer need it for the purposes for which it was collected and retention is no longer necessary for legal purposes.

    Should the users wish to exercise their rights to be informed, to object, to rectify, to access, and to erase or block their provided information as stipulated under Section 34 of the IRR of RA 10173, or should the users have any inquiries and feedback on this Privacy Policy, they may contact the CHED eCAV through the “Contact Us” page.
