In line with the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I’s (CHED RO1) commitment to ensure quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating higher education in the region, Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, Director IV of CHED RO1, conducted an institutional visit at the Northern Philippines College for Maritime, Science and Technology (NPCMST) in the City of San Fernando, La Union, on October 7, 2025.
Dr. Ferrer, joined by Dr. Myrelle Faith Mina, Education Supervisor II of CHED RO1, was welcomed by Dr. Feban Jose Quinto, President of NPCMST, together with the college’s officials and staff.
The visit formed part of CHED RO1’s continuing monitoring and support initiatives to strengthen institutional compliance with the Commission’s policies, standards, and guidelines across all areas of operation.
It also provided an avenue for dialogue and collaboration with institutional leaders to address challenges, enhance academic services, and align programs with national and regional higher education priorities.
Dr. Ferrer reaffirmed CHED RO1’s support to all higher education institutions in Region I, emphasizing the Office’s initiatives and actions in ensuring that HEIs continuously uphold the principles of quality assurance, governance, and innovation in education.
