IROC 1 officers take oath of office, conduct first meeting
To set the goals and targets for improving the internationalization programs and initiatives of the region, the International Relations Officers Council (IROC) 1 conducted its first council meeting to discuss plans for 2025.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director IV of CHED Regional Office 1, opened the meeting by facilitating the oath-taking of IROC1 officers. Furthermore, Dr. Ferrer emphasized the council’s role in enhancing the internationalization performance of Region 1 higher education institutions.
“With your support, I hope that all advocacies and plans of CHEDRO1 for 2025 will materialize,” Dr. Ferrer expressed during the meeting.
Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, President of IROC 1, introduced the proposed Constitution and By-Laws of the council, along with its proposed activities, such as BANNUAR (Benchmarking, Advising, and Nurturing for University Advancement and Recognition), SIRIB (Skilling and Immersing Researchers to International Benchmarks), BILEG (Building Innovative Leaders for Globalization), and Pammigbig and Pammadayaw, an awarding ceremony for internationalization in the region.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Al Gerald S. Barde, IZN Focal/Education Supervisor II, and Ms. Ailene B. Flores, Project Technical Staff III/Transnational Higher Education Officer of CHEDRO1.
