The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I, through its Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), conducted an evaluation of the University of Northern Philippines’ (UNP) application to offer the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAED) program in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on July 3, 2025.
Dr. Cherrel Ignacio from the Union Christian College and Ms. Fe Ibalio of Mariano Marcos State University composed the team.
Guided by the provisions of CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 18, series of 2017, which outlines the Policies, Standards, and Guidelines for the BCAED program, the team assessed the institution’s compliance in key areas, including faculty, administration, library, curriculum, and facilities.
UNP officials, led by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, welcomed the evaluators and provided support throughout the process.
Currently, only five higher education institutions in the region offer the BCAED program.
